Greenment, a startup developing sustainable biocomposite building materials, recently completed the intensive 10-week Clean Future Accelerator program. Clean Future promotes sustainability and climate action by supporting startups creating tech solutions for construction, mobility, and retail. As one of 9 operations within Lisbon’s Beato Living Lab, this accelerator is co-financed by EEA Grants. We want to share Greenment’s experiences going through this exciting program.

Sessions – Learning and Collaborating Online:

The heart of the experience was the online sessions held over the 10 weeks. Experts across various fields shared advice on business strategy, marketing, law, and funding sources. Workshops challenged us to refine our business models and pinpoint our value proposition. We collaborated with other startups, learning from each other and making connections. While online, these sessions were highly interactive and engaging.

In-Person Workshop – Taking Things Offline:

A highlight was meeting in person for a full-day workshop at Deloitte’s offices in Lisbon. This allowed for more hands-on work and direct networking with the other startups. We broke into teams to brainstorm solutions to sustainability challenges and then presented our ideas. The change in environment and in-person interactions sparked creativity and new insights.

Final Pitch Event – Showcasing Innovation: The program concluded with an exciting showcase where all the startups presented their solutions. The pitches and networking reception created an energized atmosphere. Our Greenment team shared our progress in refining the biocomposite material and production process. We highlighted our vision for revolutionizing sustainable architecture through the unique properties of our biocomposite. The audience included business leaders, potential partners, and sustainability experts. It was a chance to spread awareness and make valuable connections.

The Future is Green

After completing the Clean Future Accelerator, Greenment is poised to truly impact sustainable construction with its innovative biocomposite building material. We refined our product and business strategy, forged connections, and increased visibility within the green startup ecosystem.

With our lightweight, low-carbon material that integrates vegetation, we aim to revolutionize architecture and reduce the construction industry’s environmental footprint. In the coming months, we will continue product testing and secure partnerships to bring Greenment to market. We plan to implement pilot projects with forward-thinking construction companies to demonstrate the benefits first-hand. Our team is committed to inspiring a new generation of green design that is good for people and the planet. The future is green with Greenment.

Conclusion:

Overall, the Clean Future Accelerator provided invaluable learning, support, and visibility for our startup Greenment as we work to green the construction industry. We made great strides in strategy and business development with the help of mentors, collaborators, and peers. Greenment emerged with a more precise roadmap and renewed inspiration to bring our innovative biocomposite solutions to market. We’re grateful for programs like Clean Future that propel mission-driven startups forward.
