Greenment, a startup developing next-generation platable concrete using green technology, has been selected as one of the promising cleantech companies to participate in Beamline Accelerator’s intensive 3-month program. This provides Greenment the opportunity to further develop and validate their innovative sustainable building material solution.

Beamline Accelerator, based in Estonia, runs two batches per year for early-stage cleantech startups focusing on materials, resource efficiency, and green chemistry. Up to 10 startups are chosen per batch and provided extensive mentorship, training, networking opportunities, and up to 60K euros in cash and business development services.

Jana Budkovskaja, CEO of Beamline Accelerator, expressed excitement about this fall’s applicant pool: “We invited startups developing both hardware and software products or services in new materials, resource efficiency, and green chemistry to apply. For the companies selected, we offer product and business development services worth up to 100,000 euros to help propel these cleantech solutions forward.”

Greenment’s acceptance aligns with Estonia’s push towards a greener, more sustainable economy. As Aire Rihe, advisor at the Ministry of Climate’s Green Reform Department explained: “A smaller environmental footprint is a competitive advantage, as green is preferred in export markets and finance. Our own locally developed green innovations help solve local challenges and build green transition based on Estonian knowledge and competitiveness.”

The accelerator provides critical support for early-stage startups like Greenment, according to Laura Gredzens, green innovation project manager at KIK: “Startups dare to think outside the box and test bold ideas that can provide solutions to environmental challenges. Participating companies must make a developmental leap, and we expect the most successful to deploy green tech solutions in the real world while attracting private investment.”

For Greenment, the Beamline Accelerator program arrives at an opportune time to help address key challenges in further developing and deploying their sustainable building solution. As a startup, expert advice and training in areas like fundraising, strategy, operations, marketing, and tech development will prove invaluable. Hands-on mentorship from industry specialists can provide real-world insights and connections.

Equally important are networking opportunities with potential partners, customers, and investors. Collaboration with other startups in the cohort could lead to synergies in overcoming common obstacles. The 60,000 euro funding and business development services also give Greenment an added runway to achieve key milestones.

Above all, the validation and prestige of being selected out of a competitive pool of cleantech startups demonstrates Greenment’s promising potential. Graduating from the exclusive program gives credence that Greenment’s technology and business model are investment-worthy.

Greenment is primed to take full advantage of the accelerator’s resources and network to propel its mission of enabling sustainable and affordable construction globally. With the construction industry accounting for nearly 40% of annual CO2 emissions, Greenment’s green concrete alternative made from industrial waste helps reduce the environmental impact of new buildings and infrastructure.

Beyond the ecological benefits, Greenment aims to disrupt the $600 billion concrete market by outperforming traditional concrete in strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness. Their innovative concrete also enhances air quality through superior air purification properties.

As Greenment works to redefine concrete for the 21st century, the Beamline Accelerator program comes at the perfect time to help refine and scale this innovative green building solution. With the nurturing ecosystem the accelerator provides high-potential startups, Greenment is well-positioned to cement its place as a leader in sustainable construction.
